Terms of Service

Last updated: August 20, 2026. This is not legal advice.

These terms govern your use of HonestRetro, the sprint retrospective product at https://unpack.team (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them. If you are using the Service on behalf of a company, you represent that you can bind that company.

The Service

HonestRetro helps software teams run retrospectives and related sprint rituals. You (and your teammates) submit feedback, votes, and action items. Optional features include a private AI coach, AI grouping, async standups, and syncing action items to tools you connect (such as Jira, Linear, or Slack).

We may change, pause, or discontinue features. We do not promise that AI output is accurate, complete, or appropriate to post without a human reading it first.

Accounts

You are responsible for the account you create and for activity under it. Keep credentials and OAuth sessions under your control. Organization admins are responsible for who they invite and for the content their teams store.

Your content

You and your organization retain whatever rights you already have in the feedback, cards, action items, and other material you submit (“Customer Content”). You grant us a limited license to host, display, transmit, and process Customer Content solely to operate the Service — including sending text you explicitly submit to AI features, and sending action items to integrations an admin has connected.

Anonymity is a product setting, not a legal privilege. Other teammates will not see a card’s author when anonymity is on, unless the author reveals it. We still store the association so the author can edit the card. Do not use the Service to collect data you are not allowed to collect at work.

Acceptable use

Do not:

  • break the law, harass people, or store content you do not have the right to store;
  • attempt to access another team’s retros or accounts;
  • probe, overload, or disrupt the Service except through a coordinated vulnerability disclosure to support@unpack.dev;
  • resell the Service or scrape it to build a competing dataset;
  • use AI features to generate content you then present as a human’s unaided work in a context where that would be misleading or prohibited.

Plans and payment

The Free plan is for one team with unlimited members. Team is $99 per team per month ($79/mo when billed annually). Company is $299 per month flat for unlimited teams. Higher tiers (SSO / Enterprise) are described on the pricing page. Paid plans renew until canceled. Fees are generally non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. We may suspend access for non-payment.

Integrations and third parties

Slack, Jira, Linear, Google sign-in, AI providers, and payment processors are third parties with their own terms. We are not responsible for those services. Disconnect an integration from organization settings if you want us to stop calling it.

Confidentiality and security

Team feedback can be sensitive. We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect it, but no internet service is perfectly secure. You are responsible for choosing who to invite and for not pasting secrets (API keys, passwords, customer PII you should not store) onto a retro board.

Disclaimer and liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR SUBSTITUTE TOOLS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (OR $100 IF YOU ARE ON THE FREE PLAN). Some places do not allow these limits; in those places they apply only to the extent allowed.

Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms or if we shut the Service down. Sections that should survive (including your content license for residual backups, payment obligations, and limitation of liability) will survive.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, excluding conflict-of-law rules, except where a mandatory consumer law in your country says otherwise. If we ever have a dispute we cannot resolve by email, the courts located in San Francisco County, California will have jurisdiction, unless that venue is not allowed for you.

Changes

We may update these terms. The “Last updated” date will change. Continued use after a posted change means you accept the new terms.
