Unpack plans overview

Unpack offers three plans designed to fit teams of every size. Pricing is per team, not per seat, so you never pay more as your team grows within a plan's member limit. This model encourages broad participation — you should never have to exclude someone from a retrospective because of cost.

Free plan — $0/month

The Free plan gives you everything you need to run basic retrospectives with a small team. It is ideal for teams that are new to structured retros or want to evaluate Unpack before committing to a paid plan.

The Pro plan unlocks the full power of Unpack, including AI features, integrations, and advanced analytics. This is the right choice for teams that run retrospectives regularly and want to maximize the value of every session.

Per-team pricing explained

Unlike many tools that charge per seat, Unpack uses per-team pricing. This means you pay a flat monthly rate for each team, regardless of how many members are on that team (within the plan's member limit).

This pricing model removes the friction of adding new team members. Everyone who needs to participate in a retrospective should be in the room, and cost should never be a barrier to inclusion.

How billing works with multiple teams

• Each team in your organization can be on a different plan.
• Your monthly bill is the sum of the per-team costs across all paid teams.
• Adding or removing members from a team does not change the team's price.
• You can upgrade or downgrade individual teams at any time from the billing page.

Frequently asked questions

Can I try Pro features before committing?

Yes. Every new organization gets a 14-day free trial of Pro features across all teams. No credit card is required to start the trial. At the end of the trial, teams revert to the Free plan unless you choose to subscribe.

What happens when I exceed the Free plan limits?

If you try to add an 11th member to a Free plan team or create a 4th team on the Free plan, Unpack will prompt you to upgrade. Your existing data and retrospectives are never deleted or restricted — the limit only prevents adding new resources beyond the cap.

Is there an annual billing option?

Yes. Annual billing is available at a 20% discount compared to monthly billing. You can switch to annual billing from the billing portal or by contacting support.

Can I mix plans across teams?

Absolutely. Each team's plan is independent. You might have your core engineering team on Pro, a new team on Free while they evaluate the tool, and your platform team on Enterprise for SSO requirements. Each team is billed separately.
